How to Hear and Receive Vision from God

prayingI have discovered some ‘conditions of the heart’ that helps me to hear & receive vision from God:

  1. Got to be fully yielded to God.
  2. Ask Him to reveal His vision for your life instead of just blessing your plan for your life.
  3. Fast and pray.
  4. Have regular quiet times with the Lord and wait on Him in solitude.
  5. Remove and sin and sinful patterns in your life.
  6. Get rid of distractions and noise.
  7. Learn from other ministries and their visions for fresh inspiration.
  8. Spend plenty of time in God’s Word.

Strategic Leaders know how receive a vision from the Lord—they give their lives to that vision—they explain their vision (just say when you share your vision publically, keep it simple)—SL courageously ask others to join them in the vision.

We must do more than cast the vision we must achieve the vision–Strategic churches are led by get-it-done type leaders—the eternal destinies of people in our communities hang in the balance—we have to get our vision right & live out our values.

God is saying to each leader: Lead as diligently as you can. Maximize every ounce of leadership potential I put in you. Read. Study. Find a mentor. For the sake of the church—for the sake of the word—develop your gift of leadership to its full potential in your life.

Jesus was only 12 years old and he took on the leadership challenge. He said, “I must be about My Father’s business.” It is fascinating that He called it a business—and He took the Father’s business all the way to the cross.

  1. I am asking you to put your very best efforts in building a strategic church.
  2. He will empower you…He will walk beside you…but like Jesus, ‘We must be about our Father’s business.”
  3. We have to be people of prayer—we have to be spiritually disciplined—we must depend on the HS—and we must use the best leadership practices available to us.

The local church is the hope of the world, and its future rests primarily in the hands of its leaders.

Couple of things from our text today in Acts 2…Verse 42 says, “They devoted themselves…”

  1. They were passionate about their church. The Greek word for devoted means “to wrap your arms around someone or something and never let go.”
  2. Their church was a local church. They devoted themselves to a specific, local body of believers.
  3. They were passionate about certain things. Verse 47 begins with the words “Praising God…” They were passionate about WORSHIP. Verse 42 says “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching.” They were passionate about the WORD. And verse 42 says, “They were devoted to prayer.” They were passionate about PRAYER.
  4. I could go on and on about their caring relationships, their hospitality, their generous hearts, their bold evangelism.
